Rui previously worked at Accenture for 12 years where he was head of the engineering and construction sector, and undertook a vast number of projects related to organization, information technologies and re-engineering of processes in collaboration with some of the largest national engineering and construction companies. He also worked with leading companies in the United Kingdom, Spain and Italy.

Rui recently made the AMP (Advanced Management Program) in IESE – Barcelona.
He has a degree in industrial-civil engineering from the Universidade do Minho (Minho University) in 1995. He has a postgraduate degree in production management from APICS – The Educational Society for Resource Management. Rui has been a part of AESE (Business and Management School) Continuity Program, member of the Executive Committee of Leaders 2020 (a group dedicated to promoting entrepreneurship).

Rui is a sailor, competing in Hobie Cat class.
