SDG is comprised of specialists, with over 30 years of experience, of
extremely innovative methods for competence development. These methods
are based on the dynamics of virtual business simulations.
In 1980, in association with the newspaper EXPRESSO, Gestão Global was
initiated, a strategy and management competition which involves
various areas of university and business life. The following year, in
Brazil, SDG laid the foundations for the Global Management Challenge,
the international brand name for this competition, which is currently
present in 31 countries.The Global Management Challenge is one of the
biggest strategy and management competition in the world. It's the
largest international event based on business simulations, and
comprises of more than 400,000 university students and company
managers participating in this event throughout the world.
SDG isn’t only simulators. To increase the participants’ learning
experience, People Solutions is a company of SDG Group specialized in
training and HR consultancy. Through their services, participants
learn valuable lessons from their role in managing the virtual company
in the simulators: both in the soft skills and also hard skills areas.
In 2008, to celebrate the long partnership with our media partner, SDG
launched the Global Investment Challenge, a stock market competition
open to everyone, and running on line in real time. In this first
edition GIC had over 11 thousand participants and set the records for
the most page views in the Expresso web site. Launched in November
2008, in the midst of the economical and financial crisis, it received
even more attention from the public and the media and became a
success.
SDG’s mission is to contribute to the development of strategic
management competences and decision making processes, through the use
of business simulators, in order to increase the confidence levels of
managers when dealing with the day-to-day management of their company.
