Mainroad is a leading player in information technologies, and provides
customers business continuity and high availability services. Mainroad
provides solutions and services based on best practices of
implementation and IT platform support to businesses that depend on
systems and information technologies.

Mainroad designs and provides IT managed services, security and
business continuity services, IT service management and ITIL tools and
consulting, supported by its high availability data centers (two data
centers geographically separated by 300 km).

Mainroad’s technical personnel’s experience and expertise covers over
1,000 servers and 8,000 devices, within the sphere of partial or total
IT outsourcing services, in more than 300 locations throughout
Portugal and other various countries. Mainroad’s business units work
together, not only to design the best IT architecture (network and
systems), but also to support customers’ critical systems and
applications on a daily basis.

Created in 2003, Mainroad has more than 80 employees, and 80
outsources. Mainroad started as an IT department in Sonae Group, yet
is increasing its business and achieving more customer references
outside Sonae. Because of this, it counts on important partnership
agreements established with IT main suppliers like Microsoft, Hewlett
Packard, Computer Associates, Oracle and SAP (Mainroad was the first
Portuguese SAP Hosting Partner).

In 2008, Mainroad was the only Portuguese company nominated for the
best European Disaster Recovery Provider in the “Data Centers Europe
Awards 2008”, and attained second place at the final shortlist.
