Margaret Ann went to Hungary in 1992 as a marketing assistant for a
new product launch with an international post graduate placement
sponsored by the Irish Business and Employers Confederation. She later
joined a start-up newspaper, Budapest Business Journal, as an
advertising sales executive. After a year, she became ad director and
after three years, she became managing director.

In 1999, she was publisher at VNU (which later became Sanoma—one of
the largest consumer magazine publishing houses), and after a year she
became managing director of the joint venture with Hearst, publishing
Cosmo and FHM.

She was responsible for launching, repositioning and publishing many
magazines including National Geographic, Hazi Praktika, Otthon,
Atrium-Fakanal, Wellness and Beaumonde.

In 2005, Margaret Ann joined Marquard Media as managing director and
has successfully managed to take over the leading market position in
all segments of her portfolio.

Margaret Ann holds a BA in psychology and philosophy from UCD Dublin
and an EMBA in international business from the University of Bristol.
