Keith brings 15 years of successful executive management, sales/marketing and corporate development experience in the international telecoms, technology and software market. Besides his role at Clearwire, he currently serves as senior advisor to Vortal (e-procurement; PT, UK), senior advisor to NearMe (mobile App; UK, I), and non-executive director of Bluenowhere (WiMAX backhaul provider to Municipal CCTV; UK)
Previously, Keith was CEO of Empower Interactive, a messaging platform software company (130 employees; London). He also has served on the management teams of several leading mobile operators, including O2, as president for European Operations, with direct responsibility for Viag Interkom, Telfort, Digifone and Manx; as well as Board member overseeing BT's investment in Cegetel/SFR and four other mobile operators. While at O2 he served as Interim CEO of Viag Interkom (4M subscribers; Munich, Germany; €1.5B revenues; 4500 employees).
Prior to O2, Keith held the positions of VP international operations for AirTouch and director, southern Europe, for Vodafone. There, he was a director on the Boards of Omnitel (5-10M subscribers; Italy), MobiFon (start-up to 1M subscribers, Romania), Europolitan (1M subscribers; Sweden; publicly-traded) and Airtel (5+M subscribers; Spain). He became an IoD Chartered Director in 2005 and has held a number of non-executive roles, including senior advisor to Amper (publicly-traded telecoms/homeland security; Spain), MobiComp (sold to Microsoft in 7/08), Oplayo, End2End (sold to MACH, 2006), Digital Rum, Intellisync (NASDAQ: SYNC; purchased by Nokia, 2006), Celltick, Startrak and Cellglide.
Prior to joining AirTouch, Keith was with the management consultancy Marakon Associates in San Francisco, New York and London. He received his MBA from Carnegie-Mellon (Tepper) in 1980 and has a BS in engineering/economics from Harvey Mudd College (Claremont, California). Keith lives in Maidenhead, UK with his wife and two daughters.
