James is a battery industry veteran and entrepreneur with experience in commercializing new technologies. During the last 24 years he has held senior management positions in North America, Asia and Europe in the battery and printed electronics industries. His career focus has been developing and executing growth strategies for companies and their disruptive technologies in the global consumer electronics and enterprise and financial security network markets.

James graduated with honors and high distinction from Thunderbird, The School of Global Management with an MBA in International Management and holds a Bachelor’s of Science in international business from Ferris State University. James post graduate studies include Sustainable Energy Storage and Conversion from Stanford University and Private Equity & Venture Capital at Harvard Business School.

Founded in 2004, ReVolt Technology is a spin-off of SINTEF, Norway—one of the largest contract research institutes in Europe.

ReVolt’s Zinc-air batteries have more than twice as much energy than conventional Li-ion batteries, cost less to manufacture, are safer to use, and are environmentally friendly. The net result is a new battery, developed by ReVolt, that provides 3x the energy at 1/3 the price of coventional li-ion batteries.

With strong financial investment from Northzone Ventures, RWE Innovgy VenturesSinvent, Sofinnova Partners, TVM Capital, Verdane Capital and Viking Venture, Revolt Technology is well-positioned to industrialize its breakthrough technology and capture substantial market share.

ReVolt moved its EU HQ and R&D center to Dortmund, Germany and openend its new workd HQ and R&D center in Portland, OR in October 2010. The company recently secured €23.5 million in grants, tax credits, loans, financing and related subsdies from the US and Germany and has raised €27.127 million in private equity. It will open offices in Beijing, China in 2011.
