Eivind served as CEO of the Norwegian technology start-up Nacre from
2002 until 2009. During this time he grew the company from an
unstaffed technology project through development and industrialization
to commercial success, forming a global leader in its field with
particular success in the US. After the commercial break-through in
2006 when US Marine Corps placed a first order of $33M of QUIETPRO
hearing protection and communication headset, Nacre was sold to
Sperian Protection in 2007 for $124M. The Nacre Exit was honored as
Venture Exit of the Year 2007 by Nordic Unquote. Eivind led the
company through the integration with Sperian and recorded close to
$100M in revenue with strong profit marigns over the two year period.
When he left the company in 2009, more than 50,000 QUIETPROs were in
service in 15 countries on 4 continents.
From 1993 to 2002, Eivind worked at Siemens in Trondheim and Oslo,
holding positions as R&D manager, key account manager, sales director
and director of mobile solutions and infrastructure.
Eivind earned a master’s in electronical engineering from NTH (now
NTNU) in 1992. His thesis topic was Active Noise Cancellation in
Aircraft Seats. Eivind earned a business candidate degree from BI and
an international management education at the MBA level from Siemens.
Eivind is now a partner at Viking Venture in Norway where he is
helping new ventures to grow and succeed in international markets.
