Company Profile:

Open-Plug was founded in the summer of 2002 by a team of industry
experts. The company creates and markets the first open software
framework designed for mass-market mobile phones. The ELIPS Product
Suite relies on a unique, component-based technology that dramatically
simplifies and secures all the phases of mobile phone software
development, integration and deployment. The product enables mobile
operators and handset makers to create, update and customize their
phones in record time, while at the same time keeping full control
over the design and development cycle.

Historically, the market has relied on the phone makers to develop the
entire mobile phone and sell it to the mobile network operator.
Today’s consumers, however, demand highly individual handset features,
leading to an increasingly segmented market. This market segmentation
requires manufacturers to rapidly support and deploy a variety of
handsets to network operators looking to create new revenue
opportunities. As a result, mobile phone development is becoming an
increasingly complex value chain with numerous interlocutors and
partners.

Open-Plug is a private company financed by leading-edge investors.
