Colin established HOOD Consulting in 1987 to provide requirements
management workshops, systems development, training and consultancy.
In 2000, he founded the HOOD Group comprising HOOD Limited in
Northampton, England, and the German subsidiary HOOD GmbH in Munich.

Throughout his career, Colin has stayed at the forefront of the
industry as control systems developed from those built from relays
through programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to modern
software-driven systems. He has worked in many European countries
consulting on software engineering practices, as well as producing
electronics and embedded software. Colin has been extensively involved
in all aspects of software engineering in Germany.

Colin holds a BS in electronic engineering from Brunel University, a
diploma in management studies and an MBA from Henley.

Founded in 2000, the HOOD Group advises and coaches companies such as
Alcatel, BMW, DaimlerChrysler, Hella, Interpolis, Miele and VW in
requirements management and engineering (RM&E). The company also
provides support for process improvement initiatives such as CMMI and
SPICE. Since 2002, the HOOD Group has organized the REConf conference,
one of the most important and largest RM&E events in Europe. The
REConf plays an important role in the growth of the RM&E field.

The HOOD Group created the HOOD Software Development Division in 2005
to expand its business activities. This division provides tailored
software solutions to the company’s customers to extend their RM&E
infrastructures.
